What started as a short documentary editing job about an unfolding debacle at White Stadium in Franklin Park in Boston, MA quickly expanded into a much larger story diving deep into the history of racism that Black American’s have endured throughout their time living in Boston since the Great Migration. The film focuses primarily on the harms of Redlining, Urban Renewal, Gentrification, and Mass Incarceration and how their combined effect through the years has led to erasure of Black Americans in their communities.

Working alongside the film’s director Sabrina Salvati, we both dug deep into archives and supporting statistics, unearthing a trove of material that wound up being excellent source material for over 120 animated graphic insert shots throughout the film, which varied from location maps to archival photo treatments as well as graphs and character animations.

It was a sprint to the finish line, with production kicking off in May 2025 to the final delivery and premiere in November 2025. Making this film was a wonderful way to put the skills I’ve acquired over the years into practice, not only as an editor and animator, but also branching out into post-producing to help deliver Audio, Illustrated assets, and Color. REMOVED has been well received at screenings including the Roxbury International Film Festival and I wish it continued success!
